Episodes

973. The initial Iron-Fisted Monk review!
In which X7 talks about Sammo Hung's directorial debut, The Iron-Fisted Monk of 1977! It is a pretty standard revenge against the Manchu villains plot, but the fights are astoundingly good, which elevates the movie. One thing lowers it, so watch and find out why! Let's roll!

972. An actual 8 Song Friday!
In which X7 makes an accidental eight song Friday! How did this happen? You will have to watch and find out! These are eight great theme songs from the Japanese import cartoons of the 60s. Let's hope none of it gets blocked! On with the show!

971. The solid Superman episodes 05-08 review!
In which X7 reviews four solid episodes of The New Adventures of Superman! You sure don't want to tug on THIS Superman's cape, he'll paste you one for it! More gangsters show up, in fact, in all four episodes. They need to branch out. Up, up, and away!

970. The stylish Sentai issues 03-04 review!
In which X7 gives his thoughts about two more issues of Sentai! It was a good magazine which probably would have thrived in a different time, but alas, comic books were losing buyers by tons at the time, and live-action Japanese genre movies and shows had quite the stigma. Power Rangers helped and hurt at the same time, go figure. Let's roll!

969. The ionic Invisible Boy (1957) review!
In which X7 discusses The Forbidden Planet's semi-sequel (no, really), The Invisible Boy! This might explain a lot about the reason Robby is in the movie AS ROBBY! Let us know what you think about this theory! Let's roll!

968. The clever Kong Kong Show 03 review!
In which X7 talks about seven more segments from The King Kong Show, and has a startling revelation about the series! What is it? You will have to watch and find out! Let's get on with the show!

967. The GIG Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai review!
In which X7 looks at what was the 25th anniversary Super Sentai movie in the year of it's 50th anniversary (how the heck did that happen) Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai! It is a very familiar story, but we get an acknowledgement of all the teams that went before Gaoranger! It works out well! Let's roll!

966. The surreal Stranger and the Gunfighter review!
In which X7 reviews another Shaw Brothers genre bending film, Blood Money, AKA The Stranger and the Gunfighter! It is pretty fun, if very much of the western mold. Add a martial arts master to the plot, and here you go! Let's roll!

965. The sublime 7 60s Theme Song Friday vol 02!
In which X7 watches and listens to seven more great 60s cartoon theme songs! Some are pictured here, but some are not! You will have to watch and find out which ones are in this episode! Let's roll!

964. The active Adventures of Superman 01-04 review!
In which X7 starts a new series to review, the first season of The Adventures of Superman! He made it to television in live-action form and was a pretty big success right out of the gate! This season is in black and white, and is a lot of fun, overall. Up, up, and away!

963. The stunned Sentai issues 01-02 review!
In which X7 reviews the first two Sentai magazine issues! Published by Antarctic Press in 1994, this was an attempt to bring the tokusatsu world to a wider audience. Was it successful? We begin a four part review to decide how it went! Henshin!

962. The leery Legend of Dinosaurs review!
In which X7 reluctantly reviews The Legend of Dinosaurs and Monster Birds (1977)! He used to really dislike the movie, but has been able to find some good things about it. Not many, but a few. He was quite trepidatious about this review, as the movie has some hardcore fans. We think it is pretty fair, but let us know! Let's roll!

961. The keen King Kong Show review 02!
In which X7 reviews seven more King Kong segments from the 1966 King Kong Show! We meet Kong's archenemy, Dr. Who! The international Judas himself! The show is really pretty cool, overall, and looks quite unique for 1966! Let's roll!

960. The modest Man-Made Monster review!
In which X7 discusses a rather interesting Universal thriller from 1941, Man-Made Monster! Lon Chaney, Jr is great in here, and the rest of the cast is top-notch. It is strangely crafted film, which is not unusual for the time frame. It is a good movie, but seems to be missing something. What could it be? Watch and find out!

959. The epic Enter the Fat Dragon review!
In which X7 reviews the unfortunately titled Enter the Fat Dragon from 1978! Sammo Hung does all the work here, and he is amazing. That is all there is to it, though the rest of the cast is really good. Lots of action and some funny comedy as well! Let's roll!

958. The smashing 7 Song Friday 08-07-2026 part 01!
In which X7 does a new thing- a three part 7 Song Friday! Get ready, it's gonna rock (in a two dimensional way)! This episode is features seven great cartoon theme songs from the 60s! 957. The glam Ghost Busters finale review!
In which X7 discusses the final three episodes of 1975's The Ghost Busters! There is also an extra at the end, the first episode of 1986's sequel series as well (same name, dontcha know)! It is a cartoon, so lots more action, and a bit less silliness. The original show really grew on us, and a second season would have been more fun. Let's go, Ghost Busters!

955. The jaunty Josie and the Pussycats comic book review!
In which X7 talks about two issues of Josie and the Pussycats from 1971! They are a lot of fun, but obviously from the early 70s. There are many tells, but the creators sure tried. We get a lot of fun clips, though, so watch the whole thing! Let's get ready to rock and roll!

955. The suave Superior 8 Ultra Brothers review!
In which X7 reviews the 2008 Ultraman Mebius second team up movie, the multi-titled Superior 8 Ultra Brothers! It is pretty fun, and very standard fare, though we get to see three of the newer Ultras here. Alas, it ends in a very similar manner as the previous Mebius movie. It doesn't ruin it, but a different ending would have been more fun. Let's roll!

954. The crazy King Kong Show first review!
In which we begin the 60th anniversary of The King Kong Show! There will only be about three or four of these reviews, due to the scarcity of about half of the episodes. Which is sad, though we reckon they probably are somewhere. Maybe some niche company will put them out. And you know where monkeys might fly out of as well! Let's roll!

953. The clear Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter review!
In which X7 discusses the 1973 Hammer movie, Captain Kronos, Vampire Hunter! It is a fun movie, though Hammer throws a bit too much into the mix right away. Perhaps a slight restraint might have made a more concise movie, though it works for the most part. Let's roll!

952. The wild When Tae Kwon Do Strikes review!
In which X7 asks you to approach that you might learn of Tae Kwon Leep... oops, wrong style! This is When Tae Kwon Do Strikes, directly from 1973! The martial arts shine here, far more than the actual story does. It is a good movie, overall. We also introduce our new ratings system, stay tuned until the end! Let's roll!

951. The super Spy Quest review!
In which X7 reviews the extremely silly and yet still very fun 2015 animated movie, Tom and Jerry: Spy Quest! The two join forces with the Quest team to stop big bad Dr. Zin and his efforts to secure the Q Sphere and take over the world! Let's roll!

950. The glorious Ghost Busters 09-12 review!
In which X7 has a wonderful time talking about these four episodes of The Ghost Busters! Dracula, Billy the Kid, the Red Baron, and even a Martian show up! Heck, we even see a dinosaur painting, which we were not expecting at all! Dinosaurs do make everything better though. Let's roll!

948. The ideal It Came from Beneath the Sea review!
In which X7 discusses one of his favorite black and white Harryhausen movies, 1955's It Came From Beneath the Sea! It is pretty fun overall, and of course, the effects are spectacular. Let's dive in!

847. The superior Sym-Bionic Titan FINALE review!
In which a somewhat sad X7 talks about the final four episodes of the most excellent Sym-Bionic Titan! He does mention, again, that we need a resolution of this fine series, and it can, should, and better be done! He has shown to be very prescient about genre things on occasion, so let's all believe, and let's roll!

946. The neon Night Stalker (1972) review!
In which X7 discusses the wonderful made-for-TV movie, The Night Stalker! This is proof that sometimes, most times, less is more. It is astounding how well this movie works on the budget it had. It is also a great look at early 70s Las Vegas as well. Grab your garlic and let's roll!

945. The risky Royal Warriors review!
In which X7 reviews a "guns and girls" kung fu movie from 1986, Royal Warriors. Is it great? The fights sure are! If you want to know about the rest of the movie, well, watch the episode! Let's roll!

944. The fond Flight of Dragons (1982) review!
In which X7 re-reviews The Flight of Dragons (from way back in the Spotify only days) and quite enjoys the whole movie once again! Dragons, magic, ogres, heroes, princesses, what's not to like? NOTHING! Let's soar into it!

943. The grand Ghost Busters 05-08 review!
In which X7 talks about the fun and very silly and even more dated episodes 05-08 of The Ghost Busters! Who can tell why Filmation thought 20s and 30s vaudeville would go over with kids of the 70s, but due to the cast, it does! Get the dematerializer ready, and let's bust some ghosts!

942. The supreme Strange Change Machine review!
In which X7 reviews one of his favorite toys from his young agenthood- The Strange Change Time Machine by Mattel! This was one of the dangerous toys we got to play with way back when, and dang was it fun! Sadly, it did not feature nearly as many dinosaurs (and other prehistoric animals) as we would have liked, but overall, that was a minor thing. Get into your time machine, and let's roll!

941. The royal Rhubarb of 1951 review!
In which X7 takes a look at a movie that features an orange cat, Rhubarb! It is a screwball comedy, movies that took a premise to the nth degree of silliness. The cast is quite good and we see a few familiar places! This is a first, X7 reviewing a sportsball movie! Batter up!

940. The sharp Sym-Bionic Titan 13-16!
In which X7 wants to start a petition to finish Sym-Bionic Titan's story after watching these four episodes! There has to be a way to get that done, right? Be that as it may, four more great episodes here, including the last one. Let's roll!

939. The scenic Swamp Thing review!
In which X7 discusses the rather interesting if not quite successful 1982 take on DC's iconic Swamp Thing! It is mostly successful, but there are a few issues with it. X7 is not a swamp-fanatic at all, so he can't compare it to the comic book much. You should be grateful! Let's dive in!

938. The tangled Ten Tigers of Kwangtung review!
In which X7 reviews the action-packed but slightly confusing Ten Tigers of Kwangtung (1980)! It is truly an all-star cast, with a ton of great action. Yes, fights do break out regularly! It can be a little confusing to Western viewers, but watch it a few times. Let's roll!

937. The hearty Hobbit of 1977 review!
In which X7 talks about the first (television) movie adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. It is from late 1977, and is a fascinating watch. It sure is gorgeous, and so is the animation. It is full of music and humor, like the book as well. However... well, watch and find out! Let's roll!

936. The groovy Ghost Busters of 1975 01-04 review!
In which X7 starts a new live-action series review, Filmation's The Ghost Busters! The show has a great cast, but some truly anachronistic set up. What do we mean? Watch and find out!

935. The magical music of Hobbit 1977 review!
In which X7 talks about the music of the 1977 version of The Hobbit, made by Rankin-Bass! The music is pretty darn great, and enhances the movie quite well (for the most part)! The movie is a decent adaptation, and the animation is quite good. We like it, but let us know what you think! Let's roll!

934. The savvy Space Monster Wangmagwi review!
In which X7 reviews what used to be a "lost" Asian monster movie, Space Monster Wangmagwi! He has mixed feelings about the movie. It is very odd, that is what we gleaned from this review. Let us know what you think in the comments! Let's roll!

933. The superb Sym-Bionic Titan 09-12 review!
In which X7 reviews four more episodes of the superior Sym-Bionic Titan, and we find out that Kimmy has excellent taste in new wave music! What song is it? You will have to watch to find out! Let's roll!

932. The vivid Village of the Giants review!
In which X7 enjoys both watching and reviewing 1965's Village of the Giants far more than it probably deserves! Opie Cunningham and Toni Basil are in it! What's not to love? Mr. B.I.G. himself made his first adaptation of HG Wells "Food of the Gods" and it is the best one he created. Let's roll!

931. The agile Amazons and Supermen of 1974 review!
In which X7 expresses some admiration for this fun adventure movie, and yet has some thoughts on how it could be better! You will have to watch and find out what he thinks. Overall it is a B- grade movie, with gorgeous scenery and good action. Let's jump in!

930. The lively 7 Song Friday of 07-10-2026!
In which X7 talks about seven fab songs, six of them live for sure! Let us know which one you think might not be live, though we think it is obvious. X7 is kind of oblivious sometimes about such things. We all know it. Even he does! Let's get ready to rock and roll!

929. The superior Spider-Noir finale 07-08 review!
In which X7 talks about how great this series is! He wants a second season, even more than the Caped Crusader (which is also pretty darn good as well)! It has a very satisfying ending, which is a wonderful thing to see. Walloping websnappers, let's swing into action!

928. The delightful Dinosaur Scrapbook review!
In which X7 faces down a few technical problems and presents 1980's Dinosaur Scrapbook! It features most of the popular dinosaurs (and other prehistoric animals) in popular culture up to that time. Donald F. Glut wrote it, and he knows his stuff! Let's dive into the book!

927. The clear Captain America of 1979 review!
In which X7 looks at the 1979 television movie (and live-action movie) debut, Captain America! It was designed as a pilot for a series, but was not that well-received. It was a bit enough hit for a second chance, but that was it for Cap until 2011. Grab your shield and let's roll!

926. The super Sym-Bionic Titan 05-08 review!
In which X7 reviews four more episodes of Sym-Bionic Titan, and they are all pretty darn good, even if one features racing. Will we see that car again? Place yer bets and let's roll!

924. The sweet 1776 review!
In which X7 celebrates the Fourth of July, 2026,by reliving memories of seeing 1776 for the first time fifty years ago. It is a really great musical, if not 100% historically accurate. They were not making a documentary, were they? Let's roll!

923. Mazinger Z, Devilman, and Great Mazinger, oh my! review!
IN which X7 reviews not one, but two theatrical movies that star three of Go Nagai's creations! These are Mazinger Z vs. Devilman and Mazinger Z vs. The Grand General of Darkness! Mayhem, action, and monsters galore! Heck, there are even some great songs! Mazin-go!

922. The sad Spider Noir 05-06 review!
In which X7 finds out all the secrets of Spider Noir and his WWI comrades... or does he? Well, yes, it is pretty par for the course, even if you haven't read any of his books. It is still a very enjoyable show, we must say, with the perfect amount of humor to make sure the horror and sadness don't overwhelm the viewer. Walloping websnappers, let's roll!

921. The fond Flash 100 Page Super Spectacular 22 review!
In which X7 reviews one of the wonderful reprint comic books DC used to release in the 70s, DC 100 Page Super Spectacular #22! This featured two and a half Flashes, Johnny Quick, and the Elongated Man! These books were great for young agents who were not alive when the original stories were written, and comic book stores had not become a thing! Let's roll!

920. The leafy Little Shop of Horrors (1960) review!
In which X7 enjoyed viewing and reviewing the 1960 version of The Little Shop of Horrors! It is quite funny, and one can understand how easily it was made into a great musical. We recommend watching them in order of creation. Watch and find out which order X7 watched them in! Let's roll!

918. The gutsy Godzilla vs. Gigan review!
In which X7 grins and bears it through a review of Godzilla on Monster Island/vs. Gigan! It takes a lot of martial spirit for him to sit through this again, though it is better than he remembers. Godzilla vs. The Stock Footage should be the name of this movie! Let's roll!

917. The wily Wolfguy review 1974!
In which X7 reviews the interesting 1974 semi-werewolf feature, Wolfguy: Enraged Lycanthrope! Yeah, it is just like it sounds, almost. X7 wanted to like it a lot, but it is far too much of the martial arts genre of 1974, and not enough monster action. Go figure! Let's roll!

916. The witty Wonderful World of Puss 'n Boots (1969) review!
In which discusses a fun cartoon movie from Japan, The Wonderful World of Puss ‘n Boots. It isn’t as weird as the Mexican version that exists, but it is a fun take on the Perrault story. Let’s climb the curtains and find out the why and how!

In which X7 enjoys two more episodes of 2026's Spider Noir! We don't get much spider action, but what is there is well done. It also fits the character and time frame. We quite enjoy this show! Enter our parlor...

913. The useful Ultraman Mebius and the Ultra Brothers review!
In which X7 reviews the 2006 which is also coincidentally the 40th anniversary Ultra movie, Ultraman Mebius and the Ultra Brothers! It is pretty good, though very predictable. The action is good as are the effects, but the story isn't unique. The actors are all great, and it is worth your time to watch! Let's roll, shoowat!

912. The Finale of Phantom 2040 32-35 review!
In which X7 reviews the finale of Phantom 2040! These are the final four episodes of the series, and it ends as well as it can, since perhaps they thought a third season would be approved. We would have liked more, but as the old jungle saying goes, “always leave ‘em wanting more” applies here (and for most things overall). Let the drums roll!

911. The thrilling Time of Their Lives review!
In which X7 talks about an Abbott and Costello movie thatseems to be rather overlooked, The Time of Their Lives (1946)! It is about ghosts and redemption and is quite funny. It also follows the rules of both hauntings and poltergeists, so add that to the antics! Let’s roll!

909. The brainy Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure review!
In which X7 laughs a lot at Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure! We are happy to hear that it holds up very well, considering it is nearly 40 years old. Find a call box, er, a phone booth, and let’s dial in!

910. The semi-positive Stoner (1974) review!
In which X7 tries really hard to like this rather sordid martial arts movie. There is a lot to like about it, but... it is kinda trashy. The fights are great, though! Watch and find out why he thinks this way! Let's roll!

908. The amazing Spider Noir 01-02 review!
In which X7 reviews the first two episodes of Amazon's Spider Noir from this very year! The series is not even a month old, which is a first for this channel! Ben Reilly has the ol' Parker luck, but perhaps he will find himself! Walloping websnappers, let's roll!

907. The mosiacal Monsters Who's Who review!
In which X7 talks about a book he has had in his collectionfor over 50 years (that really can’t be right, can it?) called Monsters Who’s Who! The title is a bit misleading overall, but now it is a lot of fun to look through. Let’s dive in!

906. The astute Aztec Mummy review!
In which X7 takes a look at a movie for the first time, The Aztec Mummy! It is a very atmospheric film, but it is padded with a lot of extra padding. Hence the term padded, right? It is the first in a pure trilogy, and an accidental franchise of sorts. Let's dig into this mummy's tomb!

905. The phantariffic Phantom 2040 28-31 review!
In which X7 reviews four more episodes of the rather fantastic Phantom 2040 series! Every episode does indeed build upon the previous one, as the continuing characters show up to help or hinder our heroes. Let's roll!

901. The sizzling Square Pegs 17-20 review!
In which it behooves X7 to say goodbye to the Square Pegs series, which did deserve a better fate. Four really good episodes, and now it is over. Our next series will feature a web of dark intrigue... But let's say goodbye to our friends!

900. the magical My Beloved Brontosaurus review!
In which X7 reviews Riley Black's fun book, My Beloved Brontosaurus! First published in 2013, it chronicles both Riley's history with dinosaurs and the way dinosaurs have changed since humans have discovered them. It is probably close to many dinosaur fans stories! Let us dig in to the book!
