A collection of 15 short stories by James Joyce, first published in 1914, depicting Irish middle class life in Dublin in the early 20th century. The stories focus on moments of epiphany where characters experience self-understanding. Narrated by child protagonists in the beginning, then progressing to adolescence and maturity. Many characters reappear in Joyce's later novel Ulysses.
