Prince (Version 3), The by Niccolò Machiavelli (1469 - 1527)
The Prince is a political treatise by Niccolò Machiavelli, written in the early 16th century. This LibriVox recording presents the work, which discusses how principalities are acquired, maintained, and lost. Although it follows the traditional Mirror of Princes style, it is often considered innovative for its vernacular Italian and its emphasis on effective truth over abstract ideals. The text was circulated in manuscript form from around 1513 and published in 1532, five years after Machiavelli's death, and it has remained controversial since its first appearance.
