KPOO (89.5 FM) is an independent, listener-sponsored, noncommercial community radio station serving San Francisco and the Bay Area. Owned by Poor People's Radio, Inc. and on air since 1972, it airs local news, public affairs and talk alongside music rooted in jazz, blues, gospel, salsa, reggae and hip hop, giving a voice to the city's underrepresented communities.
