The Work It Out Wombats! Podcast is a children's educational series produced by GBH and PBS Kids. It follows Malik, Zadie, and Zeke as they tackle big problems like saying goodbye, cleaning a messy room, or managing anger. Each episode teaches a step-by-step approach to problem-solving using computational thinking, while also addressing the big feelings that come with challenges. The podcast includes songs and stories to help kids learn and apply these skills in their own lives.

Work Out Feeling Mad
When the Wombats make a mess, they’re dismayed to discover how mad they’ve made Gramma Super. Luckily, they also discover that Gramma Super has ways to step out her mad: just take your time, calm your mind, and work your way through it.
Work Out Being Homesick
When Super goes off to see the stars, the Wombats have a sleepover at Mr. E’s. But, Zadie’s not in the mood for all the fun Malik and Zeke have planned; she misses Super and is too blue. Can the Wombats find a cure for Zadie’s homesickness?
Work Out Playing Together
Zadie’s solution to a boring, rainy day – having a parade – becomes very unfun. Why? Because Zadie won’t listen to Malik and Zeke’s ideas. Zadie learns that when you take ideas from everyone and cooperate, you can have much more fun.
Work Out Falling Asleep
Zadie and Zeke are having a sleepover and Malik has the bedroom all to himself, which should be great, right? Wrong. All that peace and quiet is making it hard for Malik to sleep! But, with Super’s help, Malik is able to make a plan for how to fall asleep.
Work Out Being Scared of a Storm
Zeke and Louisa get scared of a thunderstorm. But, by understanding the steps to a storm – wind, rumble, bang! – and then turning those steps into a story, Zeke and Louisa learn how to chase the scaries away.
Work Out Changing Your Plans
When Malik’s comic book doesn’t arrive, he gets super grumpy. But then, Zadie shows Malik that if your day doesn’t go as planned, you can step out a different plan. There's more than one way to have a fun day!
Work Out Ending a Playdate
Who wants to end a super fun playdate? Not Zeke and Louisa! But, dinner awaits, which means their playdate needs to end. Can they step out a way to turn a sad goodbye into a super-duper, EXTRA-special Zeke and Louisa goodbye?
Work Out Cleaning Your Mess
Zadie wants to go skateboarding with JunJun, only her room is so messy she can’t find her board! By breaking down the big job of cleaning up her mess into smaller jobs, and “dump-trucking” the mess away, Zadie is able to find her board.
