Theodoric the Goth
Theodoric the Great (~454–526) was a pivotal Ostrogothic leader during the final years of the Western Roman Empire. After shifting alliances and conflicts with the Eastern Empire in the Balkans, Emperor Zeno invited him to invade Italy on the Empire's behalf. He defeated Odovacar, who had deposed the last western emperor, and established the Ostrogothic Kingdom in Italy.
