The Elephants in the Room
For the final episode of the season, host Jessie Graham explores the “elephants in the room” at this year’s Munich Security Conference—mainly, whether or not the United States is still adhering to the rules-based order. This refers to an established set of norms between Western allies. With so much in flux, the conference serves a critical venue for leaders to convene and work out their difference

The Unipolar World
In 2007, Russian President Vladimir Putin came to the Munich Security Conference to deliver a speech that still reverberates today. He talked about the threat of a “unipolar world.” By this, Putin meant a world in which the United States was the sole superpower.
The speech marked a dramatic shift in the posture of Russia toward the West after the fall of the Soviet Union.
