Longing for His Appearing (1)
Derek begins this new study on the return of Jesus by first taking a closer look at those who are actually longing for His return. These are the ones who are eagerly awaiting that time when they will be given a crown of righteousness. Then Derek challenges us with this simple question: “Are you qualified?”
Longing for His Appearing (2)
For what reason should Christians be longing for Christ’s appearing? The first is that at His return our personal salvation will be completed. Our corruptible, dead bodies will be changed into glorified bodies, just like the glorified body of Jesus.
Longing for His Appearing (3)
Today Derek looks at what Christ’s return will mean to Christians when we are finally all assembled together as His bride and His body. Derek gives a picture of the marriage of Jesus with His bride, the Church. The bride has made herself ready, and the universe is exulting. What a reason to long for His appearing!
Longing for His Appearing (4)
Derek points out that the return of Christ and the establishment of His kingdom is the only hope for suffering humanity. It is only the return of Jesus that will put an end to war, poverty, sickness, oppression, injustice, hatred, and more. Only His return will bring righteousness, peace, relief, and deliverance to the oppressed, sick, and suffering.
Longing for His Appearing (5)
In today’s study Derek points out that all creation is looking forward to the return of Jesus when the sons of God will be revealed in all their glory. When Adam and Eve fell, creation was subjected to the circumstances of sin. But at Christ’s return, redemption will encompass all creation as well as man.
Longing for His Appearing (6)
Throughout the New Testament God’s requirements for holiness are nearly always linked with the anticipation of the Lord’s return. This is echoed by the exhortation of the writers of the New Testament. It is the strongest single motivation for holy living, and if we are truly motivated in that way, then we will live holy lives.
Longing for His Appearing (7)
Today Derek speaks about the bride who has made herself ready for Christ. She has clothed herself in fine linen, which are the righteous acts of the saints. We have been created in Christ Jesus for good works, each strand of which will make up our clothing. It is up to each one of us to seek the Lord about what He has for us to do.
Longing for His Appearing (8)
Jesus said there would be signs taking place, which will lead up to the end times. Derek reveals how they are present even today. As we see these things happening, we are exhorted to be on the alert, guarding our hearts and praying so that we may be ready for that day.
Longing for His Appearing (9)
Derek shares one specific sign Jesus said would herald the end of the present age and His return in glory. That sign was the proclamation of the gospel of the kingdom to all nations in the whole world. It is Priority Number 1—to move out ahead of the forces of evil and carry out this task with great urgency.
Longing for His Appearing (10)
Derek finishes this study by pointing out that all nations will have the gospel preached to them—and that includes the Jewish people. At some point the full number of the Gentiles will be brought into the kingdom and the hardening of the Jewish hearts will end. That will open wide the door of salvation to the Jews. Derek exhorts us to give hope and comfort to them, which will hasten the day of Jes
Learning by Living (1)
In this new study, Derek shares with us the most important practical lessons about the life of faith he has learned from his experiences. He begins with his most outstanding message: God is faithful, and discusses how this theme runs throughout the Bible.
Learning by Living (2)
Today Derek emphasizes that you receive your calling from God on the day when you are saved. He then challenges us to decide to do whatever it takes to find and fulfill that calling. We must make it our goal to put our calling first in our life, and as we do, we will find that other things fit into place.
Learning by Living (3)
Derek takes the calling of God and extends it by showing us that we are to be servants. Even though that may entail suffering, we must first be servants of the Word and then servants of the people. If these are the other way round, it can lead to many problems. Nothing else can come before serving the Word of God.
Learning by Living (4)
We all have battles in our minds—in our thoughts. Our minds are at enmity with God, hostile to His Word, and need to be changed. Today Derek explains, through the Word and personal experience, how we must fight our way through discouragement, doubt, and fear to walk in victory in truth.
Learning by Living (5)
One of the mental fortresses we battle is pride. Derek stresses that the essential condition for receiving the Word of God is humility. He shares that in the process of self-humbling we must put down pride and choose humility instead. As we do so in God’s sight, He will give us the grace to succeed.
Learning by Living (6)
Derek continues his teaching this week on learning by living; by looking at some vital practical lessons he learned in serving God and His people. Today he emphasizes the importance of what we say with our mouths—whether we mean what we say, or not. Scripture makes it clear that we are responsible for what we say. Your words indicate what is in your heart.
Learning by Living (7)
Just what is the gospel of the kingdom? Derek points out the need for the gospel message to be presented fully. He tells us the “good news” culminates in the kingship of Jesus coming into each person’s life. It is to be an inward kingdom consisting of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Learning by Living (8)
Derek uses the experience of his wife, Lydia’s, death to expose us to the reality of this temporary life. Instead, we must hang on to the strength and truth of the eternal. We should be willing to give up what we have here in this life, trusting that God cares and has a plan for us. In the midst of all that is impermanent and fading, it is only the Word of God that is enduring and permanent, unsha
Learning by Living (9)
In looking at the first commandment, Derek asks, “Who (or what) is your God?” As Christians, we must be totally committed and loyal to God; He tolerates no rivals. We cannot love God and continue to love the world with its materialism, rebellion, sin, and self-pleasing. If God is in first place, your source, you will have a solid foundation.
Learning by Living (10)
As Derek finishes this study, he shows us, from the book of Colossians, that all things of God are available to us in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the image of God and all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him. All that God has, has been provided for us in Christ, and it is through our understanding of the riches in Him that we receive of His fullness.
Decision is Yours, The (1)
To begin this two-week study, Derek delves into the foundational difference of a person’s spiritual experience: is it based upon your will or your emotions? It is a person’s will that decides to serve God. Man is a three part being—made of spirit, soul, and body—and it is in the soul that makes decisions.
Decision is Yours, The (2)
In today’s study Derek looks at two decisions made by David in Psalm 103. These decisions are to bless the Lord and to remember His benefits. “To bless the Lord” is to adopt a right attitude toward God—in humility, reverence, acknowledgment, and bowing. “To forget not” means we remember the blessings of the Lord; we focus our mind on the Lord’s benefits.
Decision is Yours, The (3)
Derek teaches on making the decision to praise God in all circumstances, no matter whether we feel like it or not. Praise brings satisfaction to the ones who have made that willful decision. Have you decided to bless the Lord at all times and to have His praise continually in your mouth?
Decision is Yours, The (4)
Today Derek makes the distinction between repentance and remorse. To repent means to change your mind (this is a decision), and then you must go in a different direction (this is the action you take). Remorse is an emotion, and not a decision. Repentance determines our destiny for time and eternity.
Decision is Yours, The (5)
Derek finishes this week by stressing the importance of responding to God when He speaks to you. Repeatedly ignoring or sidestepping His promptings can cause you to be rejected. This is not God’s will for you.
Decision is Yours, The (6)
Derek continues this week on the necessity of making decisions. Today he looks at the importance of forgiving others so that we will be forgiven by God. If we do not forgive why should God to forgive us and answer our prayers? Remember that forgiveness is not based on feelings; it is based on obedience to God’s Word.
Decision is Yours, The (7)
Today Derek looks at character trait of humility, which is the decision to humble yourself. God tells us to humble ourselves and then He will exalt us. Whatever our circumstances are, we have the ability to choose whether we will take the road to humility, as Jesus did, or lower ourselves by being prideful in whatever form it may take.
Decision is Yours, The (8)
Derek reads from the words of Moses to the people of Israel as they were preparing to cross into the Promised Land. They could choose life and blessing or death and cursing; Moses advised them to choose life. Later, Jesus presents us with choice. Will we choose Jesus (and life), or will we choose Satan, the thief, who comes to steal, kill, and destroy? We each have that choice.
Decision is Yours, The (9)
Derek confronts us with a decision today; whether we will choose blessings or curses. Blessings come upon us when we hear God and obey what He says. Curses come from not hearing and obeying. It is up to you to make the decision which course to take in your life.
Decision is Yours, The (10)
In finishing this study, Derek explains how Christ became a curse for us when He hung upon the cross. He exhausted every curse for each of us so we would not have to bear them. Then He gives us the opportunity to acknowledge the finished work of Christ on the cross and receive the blessings in our lives as a result.
Patience (1)
In this week’s study, Derek focuses on patience and what the Bible has to say about it. He distinguishes between patience and perseverance in Scripture. Perseverance implies strength, effort, endurance, and pressing forward. Whereas patience is essentially waiting. Remember, God acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.
Patience (2)
Today Derek speaks about God’s patience. God waits—and doesn’t act on things immediately. God has a time for everything and knows when and how to deal with people. Using as examples of waiting, Derek examines the lives of Pharaoh and Paul. This brings out our need to be patient with other people.
Patience (3)
Raising Lazarus from the dead is the example Derek uses today to show us the value of waiting. If it was important for Jesus to wait—to get God’s direction before proceeding—imagine how important it is for us, too. Timing can be extremely crucial in all that we do if we want success.
Patience (4)
In today’s teaching Derek takes a look at the lives of Abraham, Moses, and David. We will see how they were able to grow in patience. As we see their successes as well as their failures, we can learn from their experiences.
Patience (5)
Derek finishes this study on patience with five principles for growing patience in our lives. First, we recognize that patience is essential; second, we submit to God’s discipline; third, we learn to see God’s hand in frustrations that come our way. Fourth, whenever we fail in respect of patience, we confess it as sin and repent. And fifth, we cultivate a sensitivity to God’s timing.
From Time to Eternity (1)
In the first day of this study, Derek points out that eternity is an essential element of the nature of God. Eternity, by definition, denotes that which is outside of time or above time or beyond time—something that has no beginning and no end. God is an eternal being. He does not indwell time; He indwells eternity—and out of eternity, He operates in time. We can have eternal life only through kno
From Time to Eternity (2)
Today Derek explains why there is an internal conflict in man. That is, we love things in this natural world, but all the while knowing there is something better. Taking a closer look at creation, we see that man has two sources: the dust from below, the Earth; and God’s in-breathed breath from above. That is what we yearn for—the eternal element.
From Time to Eternity (3)
In today’s study Derek looks at what happens when someone is reborn through receiving Jesus. God comes into our lives by His Spirit and rekindles that life of God which was born in us through creation. We get back in touch with eternity—and with eternal life.
From Time to Eternity (4)
Derek speaks to situations where our enjoyment or value of the things of this life may have ended in disappointment, tragedy or frustration. God uses these events to remind us to keep a looser grip on the things of this world, but to hold fast to God and to the eternal.
From Time to Eternity (5)
Derek finishes the week by pointing us forward to the ultimate satisfaction which God has provided for man’s reborn spirit. We may go through afflictions here on Earth, but they are nothing compared to the glory we will experience when we are at last home with the Lord.
It Cost All He Had (1)
Derek begins a new series entitled “It Cost All He Had.” What a difference it makes when you realize that this earth and this universe are not just a series of accidents, but everything was perceived out of the loving heart of a Father God. Learn how you’re part of His divine, eternal plan conceived in love.
It Cost All He Had (2)
Let’s listen today as Derek continues to bring to light illustrations from the Word of God that demonstrate God’s fathomless, never-failing love for you and for me. Hear how God made the greatest investment in the universe for you.
It Cost All He Had (3)
Today, we will gain a greater understanding of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross as Derek examines and explains how Jesus fulfilled prophecies. There was great purpose in everything that happened to Jesus. His sacrifice for us was complete … and completely powerful … to free us from sin and give us eternal life with Him.
It Cost All He Had (4)
Today, Derek is going to pick up where he left off describing the sevenfold shedding of the blood of Jesus. Listen as Derek explains how each event in the life of Jesus was foretold in the Old Testament … and how our salvation “Cost All He Had.”
It Cost All He Had (5)
It’s vitally important for us, as Christians, to fully understand the price Jesus paid for our salvation. You are so important to God that He sent His only begotten Son to die for your sins just so you could spend eternity with Him! Let’s listen as Derek continues to give us insight about the sacrifice of Jesus … and what that means to us.
Victory Over Death (1)
Is there something in you that Death: The Universal Appointment flinches just for a moment at the mention of the word "death"? Is your first reaction to not listen to this program? If so, that may be a sure indication that you need to listen to this program and to listen carefully to what Derek Prince is saying.
Victory Over Death (2)
Some people don't realize that there is a spiritual world. They think everything begins and ends in this world and there's nothing beyond. But the spiritual world is as real and objective as the physical world. The really important difference between the two worlds is that the physical is temporary and transient; the spiritual is eternal and unchanging.
Victory Over Death (3)
What is a kinsman-redeemer? Under the law of Moses and in the culture of Israel in the Old Testament, the kinsman-redeemer had two main responsibilities. The first, to avenge a near kinsman if he was murdered; and the second, to marry the widow of a near kinsman if he died. This is what Christ is for us.
Victory Over Death (4)
Atonement is the work Jesus accomplished through His death on our behalf. The word is made up of three sections: "at," "one," "ment." Atonement is at-one-ment. It restores the sinner to God's favor. It's reconciliation.
Victory Over Death (5)
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the heart of the Christian message. In fact, without the resurrection there is no Christian message. It all revolves around the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is not a philosophy or a theory. It is a fact of history.
Victory Over Death (6)
The resurrection of Jesus, who was our representative, is the sure seal upon God's offer of forgiveness and salvation through Jesus. It is only the risen Christ, received and confessed by faith, who brings to the sinner pardon, peace, eternal life and victory over sin.
Victory Over Death (7)
The resurrection was clearly predicted in the Old Testament Scriptures. As well as increasing our understanding of the resurrection, this teaching provides an outstanding example of the amazing accuracy of biblical prophecy.
Victory Over Death (8)
In today's message, Derek draws aside just a corner of the veil that separates this world from the next and gives us a glimpse into what comes after death. Today, he speaks about the period before Jesus came.
Victory Over Death (9)
After the death of Jesus, while His body lay in the tomb, His soul descended into Hades and, as a result, certain important and permanent changes took place. The death and resurrection of Jesus was cosmic in its effects. It produced results that affected the entire universe from that time forward.
Victory Over Death (10)
In the New Testament, the resurrection of righteous believers is always closely associated with the Second Coming of Christ. There are many different prophecies relating to this event; there are also many different interpretations of exactly what is going to take place at the return of Jesus
Victory Over Death (11)
Today's message takes the resurrection theme one step further. Derek speaks about the new kind of body with which believers will be resurrected, the resurrection body of the righteous.
Victory Over Death (12)
Today, Derek speaks about the next main event which will follow the resurrection of believers-and that is the Judgment of Believers. That phrase may surprise you. You may not think there will really be a judgment of believers. But indeed there will be! The Scriptures are very clear about that.
Victory Over Death (13)
There are two main judgments in Scripture-the judgment of believers before the judgment seat of Christ and then the judgment of unbelievers before the Great White Throne. Learn about how these differ one from the other.
Victory Over Death (14)
If you are to face death with peace, confidence, and with calm assurance, there are four main things Derek would like for you to know. The extraordinary thing is that people go through life knowing full well that they are going to die, and yet never make adequate preparation for that sure event.
Victory Over Death (15)
Few people are prepared for the death of a loved one. A couple could live together for many years and yet not be prepared when God calls one of them home. That is unrealistic because God is going to take one home. And don't forget: caskets come in all sizes. But, we can face the death of a loved one in victory and it can prove to be yet another evidence of God's love and faithfulness.
Hope (1)
Hopelessness affects millions of people—perhaps you or someone you love is struggling in this area. Derek Prince was in just such a position in his own life when he discovered true hope. This revelation that changed his life also can change yours! Listen as Derek explains.
Hope (2)
True hope is much more than wishful thinking. It can give you a completely new outlook and revolutionize your life! Today you will hear Derek explain the “Relationship Between Faith and Hope.”
Hope (3)
Don’t miss today’s program as Derek Prince explains how “hope lifts us out of this net of time in which we’re embroiled and puts us onto a different level, an eternal plane of living. We can walk this earth like kings and like princes because we have this hope.”
Hope (4)
What’s the hope of glory? Christ in us. Listen as Derek unfolds this secret God has reserved for His children. If we have Christ in us we have the hope of glory and eternal life with Him. Without Christ, we are without hope and without God.
Hope (5)
When you’re having a hard time, what do you do? Derek Prince says you turn to the Scriptures, read and believe them. They’ll encourage you and strengthen your hope which will produce perseverance. Perseverance in turn produces proven character; and proven character produces a hope that is not disappointed.
Hope (6)
In today’s revolutionary message, Derek shares the scriptural basis for never-failing hope which produces a never-failing optimism. Don’t allow the pressures of life to distract you from God’s love and faithfulness. You can confidently put your hope in God and His purpose for your life.
Hope (7)
As believers, our hope does not end in this world, but rather we have hope that extends even beyond the grave. When we know Jesus, death is not the end—it’s the doorway into a new and glorious eternity! Join Derek today and find out more.
Hope (8)
Nature is waiting for the manifestation of its Creator, the Lord’s return in glory. Everything is going to break forth into a glorious symphony of worship, praise and thanksgiving. Everything in nature is making itself ready. How about us? Ought we not to be more ready than nature? Today, Derek Prince offers substantial reasons for us to be excited at the prospect of Christ’s return!
Hope (9)
Today Derek Prince shares a life-changing truth from his personal experience. Hear how the Lord said, “I’ve delivered you from that spirit of depression. It’s up to you to put on the helmet of salvation—the helmet of hope.” If you are struggling with depression you, too, can put on that helmet and become a Bible-believing optimist!
Hope (10)
“Hope is pictured as an anchor of the soul,” Derek explains. “And it’s described as sure and steadfast and it enters in within the veil. It passes out of time into eternity. It’s fastened in the Rock of Ages in the very presence of Almighty God.” So, run to the altar when the enemy is breathing down your neck! Don’t miss this encouraging broadcast.
Extravagant Love (1)
Derek begins this week with a parable of how much God was willing to pay for mankind. “For God so loved the world” that He gave His only Son to die for us. He gave His treasure because He saw the immense value of the treasure He would be getting. He bought the entire field to gain the treasure that was hidden in it.
Extravagant Love (2)
Derek looks at the Parable of the Pearl of Great Value and through his eyes we see Jesus, gazing upon that pearl. As individuals, we are that pearl and we are worth all He gave for love. God’s love is individual, everlasting, it precedes time, and it is irresistible. It cost Him all He had.
Extravagant Love (3)
Today Derek shows seven ways Jesus shed His blood for our redemption. Through various Scriptures we are introduced to the prophecies given about the love of God, and then we see how they were fulfilled. Jesus did not simply give up His few earthly possessions as a man on earth, but He gave up Himself—His own life—as the redemptive price.
Extravagant Love (4)
Derek reveals the vastness of our inheritance in Christ—all that belongs to Him is ours. The Holy Spirit has been given to us to teach us about the riches of our inheritance in Christ. As heirs of this inheritance, though, we must lay claim to these benefits and receive them by faith from the One who loves us.
Extravagant Love (5)
Derek finishes this week’s teaching by looking at how we should respond to God’s extravagant love. Consider: What does your worship consist of? How much time do you spend with God? What can you do for His people that is out of the ordinary? If the Holy Spirit touches your heart to do something, respond extravagantly, no matter what the cost. Let Him see your love.
Twelve Steps to a Good Year (1)
The beginning of the New Year brings a desire to change—it’s a kind of new start. But let’s not make changes that only last through the first week. Let us resolve to make lasting changes. Remember that resolutions determine attitudes; attitudes determine approach and approach determines the outcome.
Twelve Steps to a Good Year (2)
Hebrew believers had a different background than other New Testament believers. The epistle to the Hebrews is specifically and primarily addressed to believers from a Jewish background. That background gave them many advantages and many special privileges, which were not enjoyed by the Gentiles or the pagans from other nations and backgrounds. Listen today as Derek brings this to light.
Twelve Steps to a Good Year (3)
During this week and the two following weeks, Derek uncovers twelve “Let us” statements out of the book of Hebrews. The first of these, “Let us fear,” might be considered a startling one. But the reason for it is connected to the fact that this book was written to the Jewish believers. Listen as Derek brings forth those points.
Twelve Steps to a Good Year (4)
The Israelites were led by God through the wilderness to the promised destination: to enter God’s rest. But most of them did not make it. Their carcasses fell because of unbelief and disobedience. The experiences of Israel are set as a pattern for us—to maintain diligence in seeking to hear and obey the voice of God.
Twelve Steps to a Good Year (5)
The word confession is described by Derek as meaning “saying the same thing as God has said in His Word.” We make the words of our mouth agree with what God has said in His Word. And not only do we say it, but we say it boldly.
