WYXR

WYXR was born from the vision that a non-commercial radio station could be both geographically located in a high-traffic urban center and also serve as a cultural hub at the center of a region as vast and diverse as the Greater Memphis Area. Rooted in the region’s coveted blues, rock and soul, but raised by those sounds to include the future of jazz, hip-hop, house and more, WYXR stands for “Your Crosstown Radio,” and it aims to be the link on the radio dial that pulls all the city’s sounds together.
