White Lotus Enneagram Reference
Did anyone catch Chelsea's enneagram reference in episode 2 of season 3 of The White Lotus? Gotta say I was surprised at first to hear the enneagram referenced in such a mainstream show as The White Lotus. However, as the season has progressed, it makes total sense that characters would treat tools such as the enneagram, meditation, and self-awareness in such a cliche and un-selfaware manner.

Top 5 CliftonStrengths & The Enneagram
Although the Enneagram and CliftonStrengths (formerly known as "Strengths Finder") are entirely different systems, I thought it would be a fun thought experiment to pick the Top 5 CliftonStrengths for the general personality profile of each enneagram type. Lord of the Rings & The Enneagram
After a recent trip to beautiful New Zealand, I felt compelled to finally do an enneagram typology with characters from Lord of the Rings. Your Triadic Self: Head, Heart, Gut
Are you more influenced by the logical thoughts of the head? Are you more swayed by the emotions of the heart? Or do you primarily take action based on your gut instincts? We obviously need all three to be the best version of ourselves, but we each have a tendency to rely on one or two more than the other. In this video, I'll explain the enneagram theory of the "Triadic Self" and how each enneagr
The Enneagram & Myers-Briggs
It can be incredibly difficult to find your #enneagram type, and roughly 60% of people mistype themselves the first time. So since #myersbriggs is so popular, and far easier to find your type, I thought it would be helpful to give folks a starting point based on some surface level similarities between each Myers-Briggs type and one Enneagram type that best corresponds to their personality traits.

Welcome to You've Got a Type
Welcome to You've Got a Type - a podcast dedicated to all things Enneagram! As your host, Colton Simmons, I'd like to give you a brief introduction to the show, to myself, and give you a wee bit of a disclaimer before the Enneagram takes us on a rather...intense journey towards self-awareness, and eventually, self-acceptance.
Ready?
Let's get into it!
Enneagram 101: What is the Enneagram?
If you've stumbled onto this podcast, then chances are you've heard about the Enneagram as a personality assessment.
Well, truth be told, the Enneagram isn't actually focused on your personality.
So before we dive into the deep end of the enneagram pool, let's clarify what the Enneagram actually is in this brief episode.
Enneagram 101: Where did the Enneagram come from?
There are three names you'll hear over and over again when it comes to the question of "Who created the enneagram?"
But I'd like to introduce a fourth name...the often forgotten, overlooked, or disputed founder of the Enneagram.
Ready to find out who I'm talking about?
Let's get into it!
Enneagram 101: How does the Enneagram work?
There are several key terms you need to know before diving into the actual Enneagram personality types themselves.
In this episode, I'll briefly cover:
Instincts
Primary Personality Types
Wings
Direction of Integration
Direction of Disintegration.
Don't let the dense terminology fool you! These concepts are extremely easy to grasp and are essential for understanding the ways in which each Type f
Enneagram 101: What are the 9 Personality Types?
Alright, here's your fly over view of the 9 Enneagram Personality Types.
It's a mix of dense Enneagram terminology, and total fluff. But if you're curious about any of these topics, then get ready for a doozy of an episode.
I'll cover each enneagram type's:
Core Desire
Core Fear
Movements of Integration & Disintegration
Triads
Spirit Animal
Spirit Country
Celebrities
Whew...you ready? Let's ge
Enneagram 101: What are Wings?
The Enneagram, much like Red Bull, gives you wiiiings.
Your wing is a key component of your personality type, and it may be the reason why you feel so different than your friends that say they're the same type as you...
Enneagram 101: What are the Instincts?
Instincts, or Instinctual Variants, or just Variants as some call them.
Translation: Welcome to some of the convoluted enneagram terminology, friends!
Whatever you call them (I prefer "Instincts") they are the most superficial level of who you are. Superficial meaning the top-most-layer, not unimportant. These instincts guide your decision making from the minute you wake up, so you best know 'em!
Enneagram 101: What are the Enneagram Triads?
Did you know that there are actually three different Enneagram Triads?
Yup! There are actually three triads each with three groups made up of three Enneagram Types that describe three different groups of behaviors. Whew, lots of three-ing today. The Enneagram Triads we'll cover are:
The Triad Centers
The Harmonic Triad
The Hornevian Triad
Ready to get down with the Triads? And I don't mean that C
Enneagram 101: What are the Triad Centers?
This is most likely the only Enneagram triad you've heard of (if you've heard of any of them at all).
It is comprised of the:
Head
Heart
Gut
And guess what? You have a primary Triad Center that determines how you interpret & interact with your environment every day. It's also what I call our "chief bias" in life. But more on that later...
Ready for some foundational Enneagram insight?
Let's get i
Enneagram 101: What is the Harmonic Triad?
We all experience pain, adversity, failure, and/or trauma in this life at some point. However, we all choose to deal with that pain in distinctly different ways. That's what the Harmonic Triad is all about.
The three groups within the Harmonic Triad are:
The Competency Group
The Reactive Group
The Positive Outlook Group
Wonder which group you're in? Well, you may already know just based on those
Enneagram 101: What is the Hornevian Triad?
Ok, so you walked into a room full of people you don't know very well.
It could be a job interview, an awkward birthday party, or meeting your new partner's family for the first time.
What. do. you. do?
That's what the Hornevian Triad is all about (and much more).
Ready to learn more about the Triad with the weirdest possible name?
Well, let's get into it!
